Itinerary

Friday 23rd August

There will be various London departures, some during the day but most in the evening after work. Details of car sharing options will be announced nearer the time as drivers come forward but you can also find them on our Facebook page. Details of which bedroom you have been allocated will also be given nearer the time but we will have some female only rooms for women who want one.

Saturday 24th August

Option 1 - Fan Fawr and Fan Lila. This 10 mile walk involves 870 metres of ascent and should be completed within 6 hours. There are 2 steep climbs but the the rest of the route is easy and it offers some great views.

Option 2 - The Beacons Horseshoe. This 7 mile route should be completed in under 4 hours and involves 500 metres of ascent and includes the summit of Pen y Fan, the highest peak in the National Park.

Sunday 25th August

Option 1 - The waterfall walk. Lots of you have done it before but with new people joining the group all the time this popular walk will be the easier option. It's 10 miles, involves 400 metres of ascent and passes many waterfalls including one that you can walk behind.

Option 2 - Talybont Reservoir Circuit. This 12 mile route involves 640 metres of ascent and will take up to 6 hours to complete. This walk offers some great views and also passes the extensive wreckage of a WW2 Canadian Lancaster bomber which crashed into a hillside on a training exercise.

Monday 26th August

Some of you may decide to leave early and head back to London. However since it's only a 4 hour drive back there will be the following walk option available to those who want to walk.

Option - A walk that is a little over 5 miles in length that includes 315 metres of ascent which should take no more than 3 hours to complete. It will pass the Chartist Cave where in 1839 Chartist rebels stored weapons before their march on Newport. If you want to explore inside the cave bring a torch.
